I thought it would be fitting (for my first blog post) to tell you a little bit of my back story, and how Your Freedom Land came to be! Your Freedom Land is a company started by Caleb Fowler with the mission of simplifying the land-buying process and providing anyone in the world, (anywhere in the world), the ease and opportunity to purchase and invest in raw, vacant land.
My mission in life is to lead people into the life of Freedom they were born to live. Everything that I ever do, funnels into, and is directed by, that mission. That’s why I chose land: because rural land provides us with the physical freedom and liberation of claiming a piece of earth as our own. Not to mention the fact that land isn’t going anywhere, and no one is making any more of it! We’ve all heard the stories of someone buying a piece of land in the path of development and retiring from a single purchase. Although it may not be, “likely”, all I have to say is: “Luck is when hard work meets opportunity”. I certainly have gotten luckier than I ever imagined because I chose to prepare, and put myself in a position to succeed. That’s what I want to do for you.
So who am I? I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and from a young age, knew I wanted more in life. Here’s a funny story for you: As I was walking out the door for the last time at the last job I held, (in the restaurant business), I’ll never forget it, my boss turned to me and said, “You know what, man, if you would’ve just followed the system here you’d have done really well”. I’ve never had a work problem. I’ve never been one to put something off until tomorrow, that could be done today. But, “apparently,” I have a hard time following other people’s rules. *shrugs*
I grew up in a house of 10 kids, (yes, from the same mom and dad), and money was not easy to come by. Thus, I was always trying to figure out how I could provide value and make a buck. At a young age, I learned to identify solutions. I feel blessed to have been brought up the way I was. Honestly, if I was brought up more comfortably, I’m not sure I’d have the same desire and drive to make a difference in the world.
Before you ask, I’m not mormon. Haha. Though I am Christian, I don’t believe in pushing my faith on anyone. Christ represented Love, and Truth, and that too is my goal and what I strive to embody. He also worked, (carpentry), and sought to provide VALUE to the world, (first), by learning and perfecting a craft. It is also my mission to provide value first, and to lead people into LOVE, TRUTH, and ultimately the FREEDOM that He died for.
At a young age I saw that having money meant having more choices, a desire for which translates into the ability to focus your efforts on meaningful work that truly brings value to the world. Now, obviously, you don’t have to be an entrepreneur to bring value to the world. If you have found a job that you love, then you know what I’m talking about. For me? I don’t want to give anyone the ability to put a ceiling over my potential; I don’t start anything that I can’t go all the way in. I want to do more, to bring more value, to change more people’s lives, and to lead more people to what they’re capable of, and to what they deserve.
It has always been my dream to have a business that generated enough profit for me to fund others’ missions that were in line with my vision. That’s why I couldn’t be more proud to sponsor the International Network of Hearts, an amazing organization dedicated to provide relief and recovery to victims of sexual abuse, and sex-trafficking. They are phenomenal and extremely dedicated to their cause. My pledge to donate 20% of my profits to their cause makes me want to push even harder and provide even more value than anyone else.
That brings me to rural vacant land. There are a multitude of reasons why land is an amazing investment. But that’s for another time. The bottom line is this: you can, (almost), never go wrong with land. There are no structures, tenants, insurance, or headaches attached, (and have you heard, they’re not making any more of it?). The reason most people don’t think of land as a vehicle of investment, is because it’s not, “sexy”, and most people don’t know how to use it to create cash flow.
What I want is to be a resource for you. I don’t claim to be an, “expert”, and certainly don’t pretend to have all the answers. But what I have is daily increasing experience, energy, and a drive to help as many people as much as I can during my time on this earth. So, I promise you, if there are answers you’re looking for that I don’t already have, I will find them. By the same token, my commitment is to continue to perfect the land-buying process making it as transparent and simple as possible, and will continue to bring you beautiful, less-than market-value properties that you make money on the moment you click, “Buy Now.”
Buying real estate can be scary, I get it. There are a lot of details involved and if you’re not working with a trusted source, you may, (if you’re anything like me), feel as if you have to get a degree in real estate transactions just to know what’s going on in the deal. However, with roughly 60% of all real estate transactions occurring online, it’s important to know:
Who you’re dealing with.
Their reputation in the marketplace.
Their ability to follow through and properly convey the property to you with a marketable title.
Reputation has never been more important than it is today. With the internet and social media, it’s amazing how technology has, (quite successfully), demanded us all to step it up. Not only is the world watching, but they’re talking, (and listening!), to what others are saying about us. That’s why it’s crucial to me that we provide you with the most outstanding service possible. Our commitment is to total transparency and to be your #1 resource when investing in vacant land/
